Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Elizabeth Ferguson has been a life-long resident of Nova Scotia. She graduated from Acadia University with a B.A.in History and English, and then a B. Ed. From Dalhousie University. Much of her working life was as a teacher, but music has come to play a large part in her days, as she has been a church organist for over thirty years. She has also played in a Community Orchestra for the past fifteen years. Elizabeth has also been a volunteer driver for the past eleven years, taking people to appointments as necessary. She always tried to find time for a game of bridge or two each week, and to lunch with her grandchildren as time permits. She now lives in the historic community of Newport Landing in Hants County of Nova Scotia.
Her presentation is titled “Historic Halifax” where she will provide the banquet attendees some highlights and historic facts about some of the many well known sites and buildings in the city of Halifax. Halifax has a long and rich history and Elizabeth Ferguson will explore and relate stories of this fascinating city.
